What does Herpothecary mean?
Herpothecary was created with Isaiah 58:8 in mind, which states, “Then shall thy light break forth as the morning, and thine health shall spring forth speedily…” (KJV) In order for one’s health to speedily spring forth, one must know how to heal oneself. That’s where we come in with natural, safe, and effective wellness and beauty products that empower all of our customers to take their health into their own hands; essentially “awakening the heal-hers”.
Where are your products made?
All products are made in small batches in Washington, DC.
Are your products natural?
Rest assured that all of our products do not contain harmful ingredients such as carcinogens, parabens, sulfates, or synthetic oils. They are handcrafted using oils and butters found in nature such as shea butter, olive oil, coconut oil, and cocoa butter. Even down to the scents, we ensure that all fragrances are phalate-free and all essential oils are of the highest quality.
What is the shelf life of your products?
Products should be kept out of direct sunlight and in a dry, ventilated area to extend product life. Please use within one year of purchase date.
Do you test on animals?
Never! Maybe a family member or two, but never our furry friends!
Why doesn’t my soap have huge bubbles?
One of the main ingredients that most commercial companies use when manufacturing their soaps and cleansers is sodium laurel sulfate which does produce big fluffy bubbles, but can also dry the skin out and do more harm than good. The oil and butter blend used in our bars create a creamy, lotion-like lather leaving the skin hydrated and well moisturized.
Are your products vegan?
Mostly, yes! Outside of a few formulations which use honey, all of our soaps and self-care products are plant based and cruelty-free.
Where do your ingredients come from?
Here at Herpothecary, each ingredient used is ethically sound and responsibly sourced. Not only do we want our customer's trust when experiencing our products but we also want their peace of mind knowing that no wildlife habitats, workers, or animals were harmed in the cultivation of our ingredients.
How much is shipping?
Shipping is a flat rate of $10. Any single order over $125 qualifies for free shipping.
When will my order ship?
Orders are processed in 10-14 business days (Monday through Friday, excluding holidays). However, if there is an exception due to a specific item or pre-order, we will make that information available prior to checkout. Please allow for additional shipping time for national holidays and during inclement weather.
Can I cancel my order?
Yes, orders can only be canceled within 24 hours after the date of purchase. This applies to any order modifications as well. After the the 24 hours is up, no orders can be changed or canceled.
Do you ship internationally?
At the present time we do not ship outside of the contiguous US, Alaska, and Hawaii.
